By Car

Montmoreau is situated on the D674 Angouleme to Libourne road. The road passes La Breuille just before reaching Montmoreau.

The Charente is well connected to the motorway network - especially from Caen and St. Malo.
The drive from these ports is likely to take about 5 hrs.

By Air

Montmoreau is ideally situated to benefit from the newly-opened airport at Angoulême, which is less than 30 mins away. Flights from London Stansted by Ryanair are frequently available at heavily discounted prices.

Four other airports are all within a 1½hrs drive -

  Bordeaux, Poitiers, Limoges and Bergerac.

Slightly further away is La Rochelle.

By Train

It is possible to catch the train from St Pancras to Angouleme (with one change at Lille) from £99 return.

Angouleme connects regularly with Montmoreau.
